GROUNDS FOR MOVING FORWARD

Hiawatha as a Community Landmark

We take great pride in this land, and it’s our responsibility to care for it. With this renovation of the 144 acres of Hiawatha Park, we plan not only to revitalize a course designed by legendary Park Superintendent Theodore Wirth but improve water management at Hiawatha, create additional new acres of wetlands, and maintain its floodplain protection from flooding of Minnehaha Creek. These changes will help to ensure stability and improve real estate values in the neighborhood for years to come.

We have the opportunity to set a higher bar for the city when it comes to creating an ecologically sustainable green space for more than golfers to enjoy. This parkland will be here for future generations to  learn from and enjoy.
